  • Overview

    As a payroll accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the accounting for payroll and benefits and sales agent commissions.  This position requires someone who is willing to continually look for ways to improve processes, offer solutions to problems, and develop positive relationships with other Stream departments.  This position will provide the opportunity to be involved in a variety of functions.


    • Payroll and benefits preparation & execution
    • Outside sales agent commissions and management of yearly issuance of 1099s
    • Employee expense reimbursement.
    • Manage garnishment and payroll regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and other schedules for month-end financial closing in a timely manner
    • Perform annual financial audit prep, research and support
    • Analyze financial information, call attention to trends, make recommendations, collect information and prepare reports
    • May provide direction to other staff members as required to complete projects or other functions
    • Identify accounting and control issues and recommend, develop and implement solutions
    • Provide support to other accounting areas during vacation or peak periods


    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting.
    • CPA or CPA candidate a plus
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting with experience in payroll and outside sales agent commissions required.
    • Must be versed in IRS and Department of Labor regulations in payroll processing,
    • Strong ability to manipulate and analyze large data.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong knowledge of Excel.
    • Strong Oracle financials experience a plus.
    • Exponent HR or any major HRS system experience a plus.
    • Must be flexible and be able to pivot with the changes in the business and be willing to work outside of comfort zone in some cases.
    • Assertive personality who can work positively with other departments to stay informed of changes with the business.
    • Must be resourceful in finding and accessing information from a variety of sources to complete month end tasks.
    • Detailed and organized in work required.
    • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment, prioritize, work under pressure, meet deadlines and multi-task
    • Proactive and independent.
    • Solid problem-solving skills and ability to come up with creative solutions.
