    The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and executing quality assurance and control processes, test plans and test cases that verify conformance to defined acceptance criteria and feature design requirements.  The right candidate will have the ability to work with the business analyst team, the development team and the project managers to ensure that technologies provided for our customers and the business meet technical and functional expectations. The Senior QA will also be very responsible for the following of QA processes, initiating ideas for new and improved processes, and motivating, coaching, and mentoring the non-senior members of the QA team.

    Responsibilities

    • Support multiple, concurrent projects of varying complexity with minimal supervision.
    • Estimate and deliver accurate, time-sensitive project results to business and IT teams.
    • Review design and test documents to confirm that business objectives have been accomplished.
    • Educate and train business and IT contacts about current systems and process initiatives
    • Cultivate a “Trusted Advisor” relationship with Stream contacts and vendors.
    • Resolve conflicts while escalating technical, managerial or policy issues for timely resolution.
    • Motivating, coaching, and mentoring the non-senior members of the QA team.
    • Overall understanding of the business, its strategy and objectives.
    • Anticipates program release problems and takes corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve commitments.
    • Works closely with the Business Analysts and Users to gather "testable requirements".
    • Structures and writes comprehensive test plans and interfaces with Business Analysts to assure completeness.
    • Writes detailed test cases and test scripts (manual and automation test management tools).
    • Support multiple QA projects at the same time.
    • Executes test scripts and documents defects using Stream Energy developed testing standards.
    • Works with Development to re-test corrected defects.
    • Writes comprehensive test reports.
    • Escalates process and defect issues that need the QA Manager’s attention.
    • Follows the standard QA processes.
    • Coordinates and supports the BAs on UAT testing initiatives.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree.
    • Minimum of 5 years of QA experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in the Energy industry or related field desirable.
    • Experience with non-functional testing such as performance, security and stress testing using tools is a plus.
    • Creative and initiates innovative suggestions.
    • Hands-on experience using automation tools (Selenium, QTP, etc.).
    • Must be process-orientated and be able to develop QA processes and procedures (SOX is a bonus).
    • Must be detailed-orientated testing.
    • Needs to have analytical, mathematical and creative problem-solving skills.
    • Deep knowledge and experience with front-end and back-end testing applications.
    • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Provides fast and effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance to plan.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment and managing continuously changing business needs.
    • Flexible and adaptable to new and changing project requirements.
    • Must be able to work independently but also be a strong team player.
    • Must be a self-starter and constantly seek out opportunities to promote QA initiatives.
    • Experience participating with the business users in UAT process.
    • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office suite products, project management software and related methodologies.
    • Familiarity with Development Tools & Languages: OOP Concepts, SQL, SQL Developer or TOAD, MySQL, Oracle, Access, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, QlikView, VB, PHP, SOAP, XML, EDI, and BAI.
    • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
    • Sitting for extended periods of time.
    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
    • Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
    • Accurately reports actual time worked using Project Server tool on a daily basis.
